Why Robux have three different dollar values

Robux only have a fixed price in one direction. Roblox sells them in packs, and bigger packs give more Robux per dollar. Creators who earn Robux can cash them out through the Developer Exchange (DevEx) at a much lower rate. Between the two, players also sell Robux to each other, and that price moves with supply and demand.

So 1,000 Robux can mean about $10 to $12.50 if you buy them from Roblox, $3.80 if you earned them and cash out, and whatever the market says if you buy from another player. The calculator shows all of them side by side.

Buying Robux from Roblox

Official prices come from Roblox's standard US price list, before sales tax. Prices can differ by country, platform and promotion, and Roblox Premium adds a bonus to purchases. Because packs come in fixed sizes, the calculator also works out the cheapest combination of packs for the amount you enter.

Cashing out with DevEx

DevEx is Roblox's program for exchanging earned Robux into real money. Only Robux earned from your own experiences, items or group sales qualify, not purchased ones, and you need at least 30,000 earned Robux plus an account in good standing to apply. Roblox sets the rate and can change it, so check the DevEx page in the Creator Hub before you plan around a payout.

Marketplace prices

The marketplace rate comes from live Robux listings on Mr. Gold. Each seller counts once, so one seller posting many offers can't move the figure, and the median is only shown when at least three sellers are listing. Robux bought from players are usually delivered through a game pass you create; buy only with escrow, never share your login, and know that unofficial trades may break Roblox's rules.

Frequently asked questions

How much is 1,000 Robux in US dollars?

Bought from Roblox, 1,000 Robux cost between $10.00 and $12.48, depending on the pack size: bigger packs are cheaper per Robux. The cheapest way to get at least 1,000 Robux at standard prices is 3 × 400 Robux (1,200 Robux) for $14.97. Earned Robux cashed out through DevEx are worth $3.80 per 1,000.

How much is 1 Robux worth?

About a cent. One Robux costs $0.0125 in Roblox's smallest pack and $0.010 in the largest, and cashes out for $0.0038 through DevEx.

What is the DevEx rate?

Roblox pays $0.0038 per earned Robux through the Developer Exchange ($3.80 per 1,000 Robux, or $380 for 100,000). Robux earned before September 2025 are paid at the older $0.0035 rate. You need at least 30,000 earned Robux to cash out.

Why is the DevEx rate so much lower than the price of Robux?

The purchase price pays for Roblox's platform, app store fees and payment costs, while DevEx pays creators out of that revenue. That is why a Robux earned and cashed out is worth roughly a third of what it costs to buy.

How often are these numbers updated?

Marketplace prices are recalculated from live listings every hour. Official prices follow Roblox's standard price list in our catalog and change when Roblox changes them.
