Economy and interest

You earn extra interest for every 10 gold you hold, up to a cap. Saving gold early lets you level and roll more later. Win and loss streaks also give bonus gold, so committing to a streak can pay off.

When to level and roll

Higher levels let you field more units and find higher-cost champions. A common approach is to level at key stages and roll down when you can hit important upgrades. Rolling all your gold too early leaves you weak later.

Items

Items often decide fights:

  • Put damage items on your main carry and defensive items on your frontline.
  • Slam strong items early to win rounds and save health.
  • Don't hold components for too long waiting for a perfect item.

Augments and flexibility

Augments can define your game. Choose ones that fit what you already have, or strong ones that open a new direction. Forcing the same composition every game works sometimes, but adapting to what you're offered wins more consistently.

Positioning

Place tanks in front and carries behind them, protected from enemy assassins. Look at opponents' boards before fights and adjust positioning to counter them.

Frequently asked questions

How does interest work in TFT?

You get bonus gold for every 10 gold you hold, up to a cap, so saving early helps later.

Should I force one composition in TFT?

It can work, but staying flexible and building around your items and augments wins more often.

When should I roll down?

When rolling can complete important upgrades at a key level, rather than spending gold early on small improvements.
