Attack and defence
Each round, attackers try to take an objective — usually planting a defuser at a bomb site — while defenders fortify the rooms around it. Rounds are short and you only have one life, so careful play matters. Teams switch sides halfway through the match.
Easy operators to start with
Operators with simple gadgets let you focus on the game. On attack, Sledge and Ash are straightforward entry operators, and Thatcher or Thermite teach you how to open reinforced walls. On defence, Rook (armour for the team), Doc (healing) and Kapkan or Smoke are easy and useful. Unlock a few and stick with them while you learn the maps.
Drone before you move
Attackers start each round with a drone phase. Use your drone to find the objective, spot defenders and tag their traps — then keep your drone alive for later in the round. Most deaths in Siege come from walking into rooms nobody has checked.
Defence basics
As a defender, the first seconds of the round decide a lot:
- Reinforce the walls and hatches the attackers will want to open.
- Destroy attacker drones you can see.
- Place gadgets where attackers have to walk, not where they can easily spot them.
- Don't all sit in the objective room — some roaming slows attackers down.
Use sound and stay calm
Footsteps, drones and breaching charges are loud. Play with a headset, listen before you peek and stay still when you hear someone nearby. Learn one map deeply before trying to learn them all.
