Game Gift Cards and Top Ups: Regions, Codes and Avoiding Scams

Gift cards and top-up codes are the simplest way to add funds or premium currency to a game account — as long as the code matches your account. Most problems come from buying the wrong region.

Why codes are region-locked

Publishers price their currency differently per region, so many codes only work on accounts from the region they were made for. Steam Wallet funds follow your account's currency, Riot Points and Valorant Points follow your Riot account's region, and console store codes follow the store region of your console account.

Pick the right code

Before you buy, check three things on the package:

  • The region — 'Global' works everywhere, a country or region code only there.
  • The platform — PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or mobile.
  • The value and currency — what you actually receive after redeeming.

Redeem only on official pages

Redeem codes in the game client or on the publisher's official redemption page while signed in to your own account. Never enter a code on a site that asks for your password or claims to 'generate' free currency.

On Mr. Gold, top ups and gift cards are sold by Mr. Gold itself from stocked codes, and the code appears on your order page the moment the payment completes. If a code doesn't work, open a dispute from the order page and support replaces it or refunds you.
