Survivor basics
Survivors win by repairing generators and escaping:
- Focus on generators — they're the only way out.
- Hit skill checks to avoid alerting the killer.
- Use pallets and windows to loop the killer and waste their time.
- Unhook teammates when it's safe, not right in front of the killer.
Killer basics
As killer, pressure matters more than kills. Don't chase one survivor for too long — break off and apply pressure elsewhere. Protect generators that are close together, and learn each killer's power before playing ranked matches.
Choosing perks
Perks change how you play. Start with general perks that help in many situations, like ones that boost healing, speed or information. As you unlock teachable perks from other characters, build loadouts around your playstyle.
Bloodpoints and the Bloodweb
Bloodpoints are spent in each character's Bloodweb for perks, add-ons and items. Focus on one or two characters at first, and play when events give bonus Bloodpoints.
Improve over time
Learn the maps' strong loops and generator locations, and watch experienced players. Losing chases teaches you a lot — pay attention to what went wrong.
