Battlefield Tips: Classes, Squad Play and Winning Conquest

Battlefield is all about large-scale battles where teamwork beats lone-wolf play. Whether you're new to the series or returning, a few habits make you far more useful to your team — and score you far more points.

Pick a class for the situation

Each class does a job the team needs:

  • Assault pushes objectives and leads the attack.
  • Engineer repairs and destroys vehicles.
  • Support supplies ammo and revives teammates.
  • Recon spots enemies and holds long sightlines.
  • Switch classes when the team is missing one.

Play with your squad

Spawning on squadmates keeps you close to the action, and reviving, resupplying and spotting for them earns a lot of points. Follow squad orders and stick together instead of running off alone.

Play the objective

In Conquest, capturing and holding flags drains enemy tickets — kills alone don't win. In attack-and-defend modes like Breakthrough, push together as a wave. Defending captured flags is just as valuable as taking new ones.

Vehicles and destruction

Vehicles are powerful but need support. Engineers should repair tanks and counter enemy armour. Destruction changes the map — blow open walls for new routes or collapse cover enemies are using.

Level weapons and unlocks

Weapons unlock attachments as you use them, so stick with one gun until it's well kitted out. Objective play and squad actions give more experience than chasing kills.
