Choose a class and faction
Aion's classes cover the familiar MMO roles: durable melee fighters, ranged damage dealers, casters and healers. If you're new, a class with good survivability makes solo leveling easier, while healers are always in demand for groups. Pick a faction your friends play — you can't group across factions.
Level efficiently
Leveling goes faster with a routine:
- Follow the main story quests — they give the best experience early on.
- Pick up side quests in the area you're already in.
- Join dungeons when they unlock for experience and gear.
- Use any experience boosts or daily bonuses before long sessions.
Flight and PvP
Flight is part of combat, not just travel. Learn to manage your flight time and use height to escape or reach enemies. In contested zones, travel with a group and watch for the opposing faction, especially near objectives.
Gear upgrades
Upgrade the gear you'll keep longest — usually your weapon first. Enchanting and other upgrade systems can fail or consume materials, so avoid spending rare resources on early pieces you'll replace soon.
Earning Kinah
Kinah is the main currency. Sell crafting materials and drops you don't need on the market, complete daily content and avoid repairing or upgrading gear you'll replace. Market prices change quickly after updates, so compare listings before selling.
